New Features

Support devices produced after January 2018

Devices produced after january 2018 have an upgraded bootloader which require VSFT-PA.4.8.3.1 or newer software

Exigo SIP x-header:

• Change destination or priority on action call before audio event
• Add custom reference to audio activity
• Changes to ongoing SIP calls will be reflected by INFO message containing updated info

Configurable audio network routing settings:

• Up to 50 audio destinations can be set to be unicast from system controller
• Which multicast adress to use is configurable
• Node number can be set to change the default multicast adresses

System status and panel lamp test functions can be located on the same button

System status function and panel lamp test function can be placed on the same button. This will allow the button to normally indicate status, while also work as a panel lamp test when pressed.

Severity level of audio line faults can now be configured to be warnings

Warnings are not persistent and do not require human interaction to reset. Setting this feature on audio lines on unmanned installations is useful to prevent unecessary build up of faults. Warnings will still be logged and can be monitored from remote site.

Behavior of control outputs if the device loose connection to the system controller can now be configured

Control outputs can now be set to either fall to normally open, normally closed or remain at last position in cases where the device loose connection to the system. This is useful for volume controllers and similar devices which should fall to a predefined position.

EMT updates IP addresses of devices when a GET is done on a system

IP addresses of all connected devices will be updated in the EMT database when a GET operation is done on a system.

Technical Preview

Distributed automatic volume control

• TKIS-2 kits can be used as ambient noise sensors which will influence volume on Exigo amplifiers
• If the TKIS-2 kit are disconnected, volume override will be set

Bugfixes and improvements

TKIE-2 support

Change from 1.3.3.0: It is no longer possible to use both line input and mic input independently at the same time.

Exigo - Alarm from "queued" to "in_call" will have higher gain

If an Alarm was queued the alarm would increase in gain when the Alarm was re-initiated in the zones.

Background music not working correctly when multicast addresses was changed

If multicast adresses was changed some amplifiers would, depending on other settings, have problems receiving HQ audio.

Configuration handling of Single Exigo systems connected to AB Exigo systems added

This fix is required for connecting single Exigo systems to AB Exigo systems in a multi-mode setup.

GUI menu will time out correctly

GUI on amplifiers and system controller would not time out if something was selected.

EMT - Get operation would set database to voice mode regardless of audio mode

In systems using HQ audio the devices would be reset to "voice" mode in the database generated by EMT after a GET operation.

ENA2200 class-D shutdown not detected

Bug reports have been received where class-d chip has gone into shutdown without the amplifier reporting this as a fault. Mechanisms for handling this have been re-designed to prevent this from happening.

Low output level on Exigo Alarm Generator

Alarm generator will now supply correct audio ensuring that 100% results in 100V output on the amplifier channels. This bug exsist on Exigo 1.3.3.0, but not on Exigo 1.2.3.14

NOTE: For upgraded Exigo 1.3.3.0 systems all amplifiers should be reset to +0dB in cases where the amplifier has been set to +2dB.

Low frequency PCM48 audio causes ENA2200 Amp to shutdown

High pass filter with cut-off frequency off 300 Hz added on speaker channels for all amplifiers to prevent low frequency shutdown.

Lower priority activities will now be correctly discarded completly in case of maximum utilization of system resources

When number of audio activities in the system exceed the capacity audio activities will be dropped based on priority.

Various optimizations for integration between Exigo and Alphacom

If Alphacom has many groups and there were many paralell audio events set up in a short time span some audio groups could loose the audio due to missing handshakes.

Highlights

High quality audio support

• Each device have a setting for Audio Quality Mode: "Voice "or "HD Audio".
• Voice: Best quality codec is G.722 (up to 7.8 kHz).
• HD Audio: Best quality codec is 48kHz PCM (up to 20kHz).
• For new projects, "HD Audio" will be default for the project.
• Voice mode can be used when audio quality is not critical and bandwidth should be limited.
• Amplifiers and IP speakers with different modes can be freely mixed, but will use the best audio codec supported by all devices.
• Audio events can be forced to use a different best-effort codec.

Advanced Program Control

• Two separate functions is made for Advanced Program Control as part of the Background Music solution: Volume control and Advanced Audio Program Control.

Volume Control:

• Function for increasing or decreasing volume in a zone or on an audio channel in one or more zones.

Advanced Program Control:

• Function for stepping through a list of pre-defined audio programs.
• Program Sequences are defined in the "System" view of EMT.
• Can step both ways and disable rollover, useful for an "up/down" configuration.
• Stepping to the start of the sequence will turn of the audio program in the zones.

Always include specific zone(s) with dynamic zone selection

• "Always include" field is available under advanced options for all types of call types (Alarm, Message, Program, Live Speech).
• This is used together with dynamic zone selection to ensure that some critical zones are always part of the audio activity regardless of zone selection.
• An "Auto Select" flag next to the field to indicate if the field should be an "auto zone select" or not. If "Auto zone select" is not selected it means that when the button is pressed and no zone is selected with zone select the call will not start.

AGA board support

• It is possible to add an AGA board with 12 Audio lines to the ESC1 configuration.
• Each audio line can be separately configured to either be an audio input or audio output.

Backup amplifier support

• Backup amplifier is now supported.
• One backup amplifier can support up to 6 amplifiers using the internal relays.
• 6 Optional priority levels between the amplifiers are available.

- Amplifiers with same priority will be first come first serve.

• Blue In-Command led will be lit when backup amplifier have taken over another amplifier.

ExigoNet for multiple Exigo systems connected

• ExigoNet allows connecting two or more Exigo Systems together through SIP integration.

Cluster zones

• Cluster zones are zones, which contains other zones.
• Cluster zones are not allowed by default, but can be enabled from EMT in advanced settings.
• Control outputs will only trigger on the top level zone.
• Audio activities should just be sent to the top level zones, not the zones used inside other zones.

IP speakers available in Exigo mode

• IP speakers can now be added to the Exigo system.
• 200 IP speakers supported in each Exigo system.

TKIE-2 kit supported

• TKIE-2 kit supported in Exigo.
• Mic input, line input, analog output and amplifier output can be used independently.
• Monitoring of Ethernet connections available.
• TA-10 module supported.

Voice Activity detection / Audio Activity detection

• VAD can be used on any audio input to trigger an Exigo function.

Improvements

Access panels can be a destination

• All access panels can be put into a zone or included as a destination for input actions.
• This can be combined with remote microphone activation to do remote checking of microphones without activating the remote station.

Recall record timeout available

• Recall messages removed from system if unused after timeout.

Automatic Gain Control available on all audio inputs

• Four different AGC presets and custom settings are available.

Digital muting of all audio output channels available

• All audio lines can now be digitally muted by adding an output function to the audio line itself.
• Useful function for ip speakers which do not have a physical mute connection in the speaker itself.

Multiple AlphaComs for integration

• Multiple AlphaCom systems can be connected to each Exigo system.

New Line Monitoring Option - Detailed Line Fault Reporting

• Line faults will now default be reported as "line fault".
• Checking the "detailed line fault reporting" will enable separate reporting of 'open' and 'shorted'.

Hostname support on SIP/AlphaCom trunks

• SIP Trunks and AlphaCom can be configured with either IP address or Hostname.
• Hostname needs additional settings to be configured in PSC.

SIP Trunk Optional Monitoring

• SIP trunks can now be monitored.
• Un-monitored SIP trunks will be reported as unknown in GUI and database.

Outgoing sip connections can be configured to be called from both AB controllers

• Outgoing sip calls can be configured to be called from either A or B or both controllers in an AB system.

Multiple Escalation Function per button

• Multiple Escalation IDs can be assigned each call.
• Last escalation activated will be the active escalation; overlapping functionality must be handled in configuration.

Fault list control in SDK/API

• Functions for acknowledging and resetting the fault list available.
• Buzzer and GUI on ESC1 will correctly update.

New "General Audio" type of audio program

• Flag under audio program function
• "General audio" indicates that the audio is not used for background music and it should therefore not be affected by Volume Control actions.

New On interrupt option; Mute all

• The "Mute All" option will queue all zones of the call if one or more zones are interrupted.

Automatic backup of databases when downloading database in EMT

• When an old database is opened in EMT, an unchanged backup-file is created with the version number of the EMT originally used to generate the database.

New Source setting in the Live Speech input action

• The Source setting (available under "Advanced options") allows to get audio from a remote panel or audio input line.

EMT backup of database

• It is now possible to take backup of the EMT database from EMT into a zip file.

EMT multiple installations

• Different versions of EMT can be installed at the same time.
• Project folder is separated into the different versions.

EMT operation view for remote configuration available

• Configure IP settings of devices from EMT.
• Automatically set directory number of remote device.

EMT will in the "projects view" show version number

• Version number indicate which version the database was made in or which EMT downloaded the database from a system.

Solved Issues

Factory resetting an EX device will give correct warning related to Flowire

• "Flowire settings factory reset, NMK reset to: HomePlugAV0123" will be shown in WEB when resetting the station.
• Flowire settings of the station itself will also be factory reset.

EMT handling of special-characters in names and descriptions

• Allowed characters are:
  • a-z and æøå (both upper and lower case)
  • 0-9
  • <space>, - (hyphen), _ (underscore) and . (dot)

EMT comments retrieval

• Comments made for the project (in the Projects list) is now saved in the database.
• The 'Get' operation will also retrieve project comments.

New features

Backup Amplifier

• One amplifier can be configured as a replacement for up to 6 other amplifiers.
• The “replacement candidates” can be prioritized from 1 to 6, where 1 is highest priority; so if more than one replacement candidate is lost, the one with the highest priority will be replaced.

Alphacom and SIP integration

• Exigo supports full Alphacom integration and integration with other SIP trunks.
• Alphacom/SIP Integration is supporting single and AB systems
• An Exigo system can be integrated with multiple Alphacom/SIP systems.

• Alphacom/SIP stations can start and control any pre-configured audio activity in Exigo

IP speakers and all other audio channels can be configured to be digitally muted based on activity in the system

ENA Line monitoring: Optional detailed reporting

By default, the system reports both “Open” and “Shorted” as “Line Fault”. It is now possible to choose detailed reporting for “Open” and “Shorted”.

ENA Line monitoring: Suspend monitoring during alarms

Amplifiers with high load can generate false load faults during GA. Suspend monitoring will pause monitoring during the alarm to prevent such faults.

System configuration

EMT: Remote device configuration

Remote device configuration is implemented in EMT under Operation panel. This allows configuration of basic device settings such as IP settings and directory number from EMT.

EMT: Selectable “missing device” reporting

Devices can now be configured to be reported as missing in either A, B or both controllers.

EMT Wizard: Advanced settings pane

In the EMT Wizard, the user can now configure global settings in an advanced settings pane. Including:

• Monitoring of ETH1 or ETH2 on/off for all rack devices and access panels
• AC monitoring on/off for all rack devices
• DC monitoring on/off for all rack devices
• "Enable SSH" flag is moved from the Default Configuration page to the Firewall Setting group in the Advanced Settings
• The Firewall Settings group also have an option to enable the SNMP port

EMT: Option to add multiple devices

It is possible to add multiple devices to a database with only one drag&drop operation. When selecting a device in the Components pane, there is an option to select how many devices will be added.
If the database is an AB system, and paired devices are selected, then the Add Multiple devices option will add the selected number of pairs to the database.

EMT: Drag and drop multiple devices to zones

It is now possible to drag and drop multiple devices to a zone. Use Shift and/or Ctrl keys to select multiple devices before dragging the selected devices to a zone.

EMT: Allow installation of two EMT versions

It is now possible to have one EMT version 1.2, and one version 1.3, installed simultaneously.

EMT: Backup of database

When opening a project, EMT will check what EMT version the project was created with, and if different from the current version, a backup file (.zip) will be created.
The backup file will be named <ProjectName>_<CreatedInVersion>.zip. The backup file will be saved in a \backup directory inside the project directory.
The creation of the backup file goes silently without notification to the user, unless the backup file of some reason cannot be created.
It is also possible to create a backup file manually.

EMT: Restore overwritten project on Fail

The database is restored if an error occurs when creating a new database and the "Overwrite existing..." flag is checked.

EMT: Indication that a DAK/CI is configured

It is now indicated in the device structure tree in EMT, whether a DAK or CI is configured, to make it easier to find available DAKs/CIs.

EMT: Dragging input function onto base-CI autogenerates Start/Stop

Dragging an input function into the base button/CI will auto generate a start/stop pair with the correct settings.

EMT: Line measurement: priority and name change

On Audio Activity output action, the Audio Type “Line Test” is changed to “Line Measurement” and default priority range is changed to 1-100.

EMT: SNMP MIB settings on devices

• Allows custom Sysname, Syslocation and Syscontact to be configured in EMT (not available for PSC)

EMT: Upper limit of channels and line output volume set to +2 dB in EMT

• Volume can be adjusted from +2 to -40 dB

Usability

Adjustments to device web page

• Web page on devices simplified as all settings are done through EMT.

Directory number and display text in AlphaWeb

• Directory number is now the same as is typed in “Main Settings”, and Display Text is the same as Display Name in EMT.

Fault messages on SLM faults: Values PVSM, PSCM, PSPM, GFM are removed from fault report

• Removed from main fault message. These can still be found by the operator in the audio monitoring sub menu.

GUI change to network icon

• Network icon in GUI changed to indicate status of connection to PSC in A or B system.

Issues Resolved

• Assign to A or B no longer requires new IP configuration and reboot of target
• Cannot remove "Timeout" option from a Call Escalation DAK without rebooting
• Adding a new non-existing panel to the system will only report "missing device" in Controller A
• Live Speech from DAK with "Wait for PTT" and "Timeout" starts timer from when DAK is pressed, not when PTT is pressed
• Live Speech toggle from DAK with “Wait for PTT” is not possible to deactivate during the 5 second ”wait for PTT” period
• ECPIR-3P behaved as registered after being removed from system configuration for up to 5 minutes.
• TKIS-2: Audio feedback on recall does not work
• Adding devices to database with two or more "old" directory numbers only allows selecting the oldest
• Should be able to “Get Database” from B controller if A controller is not responsive
• Altering between parallel/non-parallel wired CIs gives short loss of network and “missing device” report
• Not possible to use more that the first NTP server listed in EMT
• Call Escalation: Red LED hangs if escalated call queues recall
• Call Escalation: Red LED hangs if escalated recall, control DAK is pushed without recorded message
• System limitations: High priority audio events will be prioritized if audio resources limitations is met.

Known Issues

CRM-V Access Panels

• Only zone select, audio program, alarm control, message control and live speech is supported

CRM-V Access panel: Clicknoise from microphone

• On CRM-V a clicknoise generated by handheld microphones can be heard on the PA system. This happens due to the reduced delay in the Exigo system
  

Workaround: None.

ECPIR-xP: Led behavior with dimmed brightness

• Dimming a ECPIR-xP with 4 EBMDR-8 expansion panels in a system with much activity will result in chaotic led behavior
  

Workaround: Disable dimming of leds

TKIS-2

• The mic input on TKIS-2 does not work after upgrade and/or factory default
  

Workaround: Reboot the TKIS-2.

Fault indication

• Changing a device’s Fault indication subscription from reporting on system B to report on system A requires rebooting the device to take effect

Live Speech

• Audio Activity CO set to follow alarm does not change state if interrupted by Live Speech
  

Workaround: Make a “ghost zone” for the alarm that the CO can follow regardless of Live Speech

• Live Speech with “Wait for PTT” is triggered if DAK for “Recall, Record”, on the same panel, is pressed during wait period
  

Workaround: Pressing PTT button or toggling off “Recall, Record” will cancel the Live Speech. No recording is made.

Backward compatibility

• It is not possible to downgrade the Primary System Controller from version 1.3 to a 1.2 version by using the conventional downgrade process
  

Workaround: Use the tool “VS-AlphacomXE.ImageUpgrade”, found here, to downgrade PSC. Other devices can be downgraded by conventional means. Contact customer services for support.

Note: It is always recommended to run Software versions from the same release package on all devices in the Exigo system.

Replacement devices should be upgraded/downgraded accordingly. Zenitel does not take responsibility for issues that might arise from using incompatible Software versions on different devices.

System Configuration (Commissioning)

• Users may experience slow response times in EMT when configuring very large systems

• When configuring recall record on ESC1, with device audio input as source, recall control does not play the audio recorded when programmed with "local device" as message source
  

Workaround: Choose the audio input directly.

• ENAx does not receive audio immediately after configuration
  

Workaround: On commissioning, ensure that ENAx is rebooted after first time configuration.

• System Status DAK indicators - Incorrect status after reconfiguration from system status from A to system status from B
  

Workaround: If changing the configuration of original A/B system from where "System Status DAK LED" should be showing, reboot the panel involved to assure changes take effect.

• ESC1 Call list: Long program names will not be displayed correctly
  

Workaround: Limit program names to 10 standard characters.

• EMT - SNMP Community string allows space character but SNMP does not support space
  

Workaround: Avoid using space in the community string.

• EMT – Zone names with “ (quote) character creates warning
  

Workaround: Avoid using “ in the zone names.

• It is not possible to remove the option "Overwrite Destination" from an already configured Call Escalation DAK without rebooting
  

Workaround: Panel must be rebooted after the updated configuration is sent from EMT.

• Call option "Release delay" does not work in combination with call option "Wait for PTT"
  

Workaround: Avoid using this combination.

• When changing from parallel wired to not parallel wired Audio Input, Impedance setting does not update correctly until a chilly restart
  

Workaround: Perform a chilly restart.

Line Monitoring

• During continuous LET monitoring and GA at high volume, LETs sometimes fail
  

Workaround: Always ensure that “Suspend Monitoring” is enabled.
